Eric Greenberg is the president and chief executive officer of Innovation Investments LLC, a diversified investment holding company and merchant bank.
In January 2001, Eric founded Acumen Sciences LLC and the Acumen Journal of Life Sciences, where he served as its chief executive officer until March 2004. Eric founded Scient, a consulting firm focused on eBusiness and emerging technology (NASDAQ: SCNT) and served as its president and CEO from October 1997 through February 1998. He assumed the position of chairman from October 1997 through March 2000. Prior to founding Scient, from February 1996 to July 1997, Eric was founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Viant (NASDAQ:VIAN), an Internet systems integrator.
Prior to founding Viant, Eric held various positions at Gartner Group, a market research company, from April 1992 to December 1995, most recently as the vice president that launched its interactive business. He was formerly in sales and sales management, and was the top performing executive on a worldwide basis for three consecutive fiscal years. Eric previously served as a management consultant with Price Waterhouse and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Eric serves on the board of the Shoah Foundation, received Shoah's Ambassador to Humanity Award for 2001, and is on the fundraising campaign committee at UCSF for its new Mission Bay Campus, where the Human Genetics lab is named after him. He has endowed genetic research treatments at Columbia/Cornell for breast cancer and pediatric cardiology, was a finance vice chair for the California Proposition 71 stem cell research ballot initiative, is a recipient of the Einstein Technology Innovation Award from the State of Israel and the Jerusalem Fund, and was named by Worth magazine as the tenth most generous American under 45. Eric is also active in several other philanthropic causes and serves on the boards of a number of businesses, including Lux Research and the Convex Group.
