Fred Vogelstein is a contributing editor for WIRED magazine. Based in Silicon Valley, he has been covering technology or finance for newspapers and magazines for nearly 20 years. Prior to WIRED, he spent several years at FORTUNE as a technology writer, after stints at US News & World Report, the Wall Street Journal, and Newsday.
While in the Valley, Fred has written stories on everything from Amazon's comeback and Google's growing pains to the tumult caused by the rapid adoption of open source software. He holds a BA in Political Science from Pomona College in Claremont, California.
