Dave Remy is chief technology officer and chief architect at uBoost, a company providing a "rewards and recognition platform" for the Web. Dave is an author, inventor, and founder/early employee of multiple successful Internet startups, as well as a software developer.

Prior to uBoost, Dave was group program manager for the XML team at Microsoft, where he ran Microsoft's XML strategy and standards, as well as co-invented Microsoft's recent LINQ to XML technology. Prior to Microsoft, Dave was with BEA Systems, where he co-invented and led the Apache XMLBeans project. Dave was also CTO and co-founder of the Web security company GeoTrust (acquired by Verisign) and CTO and employee #4 at Sharebuilder (acquired by Ing), where he was co-inventor of the Sharebuilder stock trading technology. Prior to Sharebuilder, Dave ran technology for Corbis, the Bill Gates-owned digital image company.

Dave has more than 25 years in software development and is co-author of the book Securing Web Services with WS-Security: Demystifying WS-Security, WS-Policy, SAML, XML Signature, and XML Encryption. He has spoken at multiple high-visibility conferences, including Microsoft Professional Developers Conference and BEA's eWorld Conference, as well as numerous smaller conferences and user-group meetings.

Dave's work at uBoost represents a new type of Web service that can be used in a wide variety of online and offline scenarios to motivate behavior and create loyalty. uBoost provides an infrastructure for issuing points, or a private or shared currency, which can then be redeemed for a huge, configurable inventory of digital and physical rewards. Any company or organization needing to motivate specific behaviors and create loyalty can easily integrate with uBoost and have its own or take advantage of a uBoost-branded rewards program.
