As vice chairman of SkyFiber Inc., Adrian Steckel brings extensive experience in telecommunications and multinational business operations to his role overseeing the company's global expansion and strategic relationship efforts. Adrian also serves as the chief executive officer of Azteca America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca and the fastest-growing Spanish-language network in the United States.
A Yale graduate and former investment banker with Dillon, Read and Co., Adrian joined Grupo Salinas in 1994 to oversee projects at Grupo Elektra and TV Azteca, subsequently rising to the position of chief financial officer of TV Azteca. As CFO and a member of the board of directors, he was key to the company's transformation and was a driving force behind a successful US$2 billion IPO, crafted a joint venture with the NBA, launched the record company Azteca Music, and produced numerous television programs.
In 1999, Adrian became CEO of Unefon, a wireless provider partially owned by Grupo Salinas, building a cellular network in Mexico to serve over 1.3 million customers. Since 2000, Adrian has been a member of the executive committee of Grupo Salinas.
Adrian currently serves on the board of directors for Iusacell, a leading Mexican wireless provider, and for SkyFiber Inc. He holds a BA in History from Yale University.
