About Me
Emre Izat is a creative executive, producer, director, and writer with two decades of experience in filmmaking. His work has yielded multiple awards, including Emmies (4 wins and 26 nominations), BAFTA, Royal Television Society, Jackson Wild, Critics’ Choice, Wildscreen, and others.
Most recently, Emre served as a creative executive at Netflix, where he worked on a wide range of documentary series, including Unknown, Connected: The Hidden Science of Everything, Human: The World Within, Surgeon's Cut, Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake, Missing: Dead or Alive, Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space, Our Universe, Chimp Empire, Meltdown: Three Mile Island, the popular Explained franchise, and many others.
Outside his Netflix tenure, Emre has produced, directed, and written documentaries for multiple global networks, including National Geographic, Discovery, Amazon, Netflix, History, ZDF, France Television, ID, MSNBC, TLC, and PBS, among others. Emre is also a violinist and a cameraman and has filmed artists such as Ben Harper, Taj Mahal, Ani DiFranco, Blind Boys of Alabama, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Seu Jorge, Ozomatli, and Chuck Brown.
