Senior Strategic Planner for Advertising,, Media Arts Lab, Apple
Eric Starr is a senior strategic planner for Apple advertising at Media Arts Lab (MAL). Eric leads a team responsible for the strategic development, positioning, and advertising of Apple products including iPhone, Mac, iPod, and the all-new iPad. Eric's job is to be constantly ingrained in cultural trends, audience behaviors, media usage, and strategic development for the Apple brand.
Eric has worked on building the Apple brand for over the past six years. When he began, Apple was just a little computer company that started to gain worldwide attention for the launch of the iPod. Eric has not only helped grow iPod into a booming success and cultural icon with the Silhouettes campaign, but has since helped grow the brand with the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" campaign and the iPhone/iPad campaigns you see today.
Eric's work has received impressive honors, including the following: "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" received "Campaign of the Decade," iPod Silhouettes received "Outdoor Campaign of the Decade," and the agency Eric works for won the honor of "Agency of the Decade."
Eric holds a master's degree in Communication and a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He lives in Marina del Rey with his Basenji named Roxy. When he's not stuck at work, Eric is an avid sailor and enjoys racing in regattas, camping outdoors, and inspiring others to share his growing concern for the health of our planet.
