Huw Morgan
Vice President Research, Info-Tech Research Group

Huw Morgan is vice president of Research Strategy with Info-Tech Research Group. He is responsible for setting the research agenda at Info-Tech, factoring in customer feedback and competitive analysis. Huw also works with stakeholders within the company to ensure that the Info-Tech website serves the research needs of members and guests. He also coordinates new product development activities at Info-Tech.

Huw has more than 35 years of experience in the IT industry, most recently as the lead of the Architecture Practice for the Toronto business unit of CGI. Prior to joining CGI, Huw served as CTO of some of Canada's most successful online companies, including Lavalife, Bell Globemedia, and Torstar Digital.

As a management consultant, Huw specialized in projects involving major business and technology transformations in industries ranging from insurance to utilities. A key component of these transformative projects was the application of Enterprise Architecture principles and frameworks. In addition, many of these projects involved the application of a services-oriented architecture pattern and enterprise integration software such as enterprise service buses and ETL systems.

As a CTO for Internet companies, Huw specialized in the development of compelling websites capable of scaling to meet the demands of a large public user community. He gained expertise in meeting the full gamut of Internet challenges, including search engine optimization, high availability, high performance, content management, privacy, and security.

Huw also has several years of general management experience, as general manager of, one of North America's most popular city sites, and as president of Infomart-Dialog, an online database company.

Huw has an Honors Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from York University, where he won the Gold Medal for Entrepreneurial Studies.
