Executive VP and Board of Directors, Precision Healthcare Ecosystem
Gloria Ma, PhD, is executive vice president and a member of the board of directors for Precision Healthcare Ecosystem (PHE). She obtained her B Sc and M Sc in Genetics from McGill University and her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
PHE is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes as specified in Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code. As a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, PHE is focused on pioneering a new model of healthcare, transitioning it from a siloed "sick care" & "parts care" system to one that is delivering patient-centered, holistic, connected, collaborative, and compassionate care focused on the health, healing, and well-being of the entire healthcare team and ecosystem.
The initial project of the organization is Project Apollo, which is aimed to educate, engage, and empower the public in order to pioneer a new model of healthcare by redefining the doctor-patient relationship from a patient's passive "doctor-fix-me" mindset to an engaged, proactive role, taking responsibilities for his or her own health. Instead of using the traditional allopathic approach of drugs and/or surgeries to treat chronic lifestyle diseases, PHE will aim to achieve a more holistic, integrated, and sustainable approach to health and wellbeing throughout the lifespan of an individual by using Human Data Exploration (HDE) and incorporating different modalities of healing guided by evidence-based data for individual patients to enable early diagnosis and disease prevention, and ultimately making precision healthcare accessible and affordable for all.
