Adam Hetnarski is a senior investment professional with more than 25 years' investment experience. Adam is currently the Tech Media and Telecom (TMT) portfolio manager at Vulcan Capital in Seattle. His mandate at Vulcan crosses over into the Vulcan TMT private equity and venture capital holdings. Adam is an equity partner at Common Angels, an early-stage venture firm specializing in internet and software investments. He is on the board of advisors at WhiteHat, a New York City-based private equity firm. In the past, he has served on several different boards.
Over the course of 23 years, Adam held a number of key positions at Fidelity Investments. Most recently, he was a vice president in the Sector Equity Investing Group at Fidelity Management Research in Boston. As a portfolio manager of the information technology sleeve, Adam was responsible for over $7B of assets under management. Prior to that, he was a vice president in the Large Cap Growth Group, where he was portfolio manager of several growth-oriented funds, including Export Fund, Contrafund II, Growth Discovery Fund, Destiny II, and the Capital Development Fund. Over a period of nearly a decade, Adam outperformed 95% of his large Cap Growth peers.
Prior to managing diversified funds, Adam was the technology sector leader and coordinated the efforts of nine technology analysts, filtering analysis into action items. For more than 15 years, he was responsible for nearly $10B of assets under management. Adam was a frequent speaker to the retail channel and to institutional clients.
Adam has a BS in Computer Science and Applied Math from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, and an MBA from the Amos Tuck Graduate School of Business at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Adam won a national competition to be a summer intern at NASA and held top-secret clearance when he was 20 years old. More recently, he earned commercial, multi-engine, and instrument pilot ratings.
