Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner, aPriori Capital Partners
Susan C. Schnabel is the co-founder and co-managing partner of aPriori Capital Partners, an independent leveraged-buyout fund advisor created in connection with the spinoff of DLJ Merchant Banking Partner from Credit Suisse 2014.
Prior to forming aPriori Capital Partners, Susan worked at Credit Suisse as a managing director in the Asset Management Division and co-head of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. She was responsible for originating new investments and monitoring existing investments, and served on its Investment Committee.
Susan joined Credit Suisse in November 2000 through the merger with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), where she was a managing director. Prior to the merger with Credit Suisse, Susan spent three years at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and was responsible for directing DLJ's principal investing activities in the Los Angeles Office. Prior to that, she served as chief financial officer of PETsMART. Previously, Susan worked at DLJ starting in 1990 and held various positions in its investment banking operations, specializing in public and private high-yield debt and equity financings and mergers and acquisitions advisory for a variety of industries, including retail and consumer, energy, telecommunications, and technology. In 1988 she worked at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Beverly Hills, as an associate.
Susan currently serves as a director of Laramie Energy and Versum Materials. She formerly served on the boards of Neiman Marcus, STR Holdings, Rockwood Specialties, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Susan serves on the Cornell University board of trustees, the Harvard Business School alumni advisory board, the California Institute of Technology investment committee, the board of directors of the US Olympic & Paralympic Foundation, and the Los Angeles Music Center Foundation. Susan is a member of the Leadership Council of International Medical Corporation (IMC), C200, and the Pacific Council.
Susan graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
