Ricky Solomon has over 30 years of experience in the financial service industry, including structuring both public and private financings and participating as an active venture capital investor. He started his career in the financial industry in 1983 when he joined Wechsler & Co., a broker dealer focused on convertible securities. During his 15 years at Wechsler, he became a partner and a managing director in charge of trading. From there, Ricky joined Paloma Partners - a multi-strat market neutral hedge fund - as a portfolio manager, where he ran a convertible arbitrage book as well as a long short equity book focused on technology stocks.
In 2000, Ricky became a founding partner of Amaranth, another multi-strategy market neutral hedge fund. At Amaranth, he was responsible for global convertible arbitrage and a long short equity book. He also was a member of the executive committee. After Amaranth, he joined Verition, another multi-strategy market neutral fund, in 2008.
Ricky currently serves on the board of several companies, both public and private. Among them are Aspen University - a public, for-profit online higher-learning institution; I D Global Solutions - a public payments and security company; and Unaliwear - a private monitoring company for senior citizens which includes the use of artificial intelligence.
Ricky graduated from Emory University in 1983 with a BBA in Finance and holds Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses.
