About Me
Andrew Wallis is the CEO and founder of Unseen, a charity that believes modern slavery can and must be eradicated. The organization provides secure housing and a wide range of services to over 300 survivors of human trafficking at any given time. Unseen also operates the UK Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline, which has helped identify nearly 30,000 potential victims of exploitation over the past six years.
Unseen collaborates with businesses, governments, academics, and other entities to eradicate modern slavery. Andrew chaired the Centre for Social Justice's "It Happens Here" report, which played a catalytic role in the development of the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015. In recognition of his work combating human trafficking, he was awarded an OBE that same year.
Throughout his career, Andrew has faced diverse challenges, from assembling flat-pack furniture for Unseen's first safe house to advising global businesses on how to effectively tackle forced labor in their supply chains. He is a recognized world expert on modern slavery and frequently speaks at conferences and in the media. He has been described as “the loveliest disrupter you could hope to meet!”
